I've received my two $40 coupons for digital TV converter boxes from here:
http://www.dtv2009.gov/
Now I have no idea which converter boxes to grab with them, and am looking for the best deal on a good converter box. All I know is to grab one that has the analog pass-through feature. Here's what I've found so far:
TigerDirect - AccessHD 1080D Digital Converter Box for $40.01 + $1.99 Shipping - $40 Coupon = $2:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=A194-1036
Buy.com - ARTEC T3A Pro Digital-To-Analog Converter Box w/Remote Control Retail for $44.99 - $40.00 Coupon = $4.99 and Free Shipping:
http://www.buy.com/prod/208131212.html
Buy.com - Lasonic LTA-260 ATSC Converter Box for $49.99 - $40.00 Coupon = $9.99 and Free Shipping:

Not sure where else to look...

I've read that the Zenith brand converter box is supposed to be the best.
Can anyone find a deal on that model?
Thanks!

i would not recommend buying any of those converter boxes... are you still using rabbit ears? that's who the target is for.
if you have a digital cable box / satellite then you dont need to change a thing ;)

I get my TV over the air with rabbit ears, so I need one...
The government coupon thingies seem more like a subsidy for the people making the converter boxes...

Best I've seen on the Zenith is $60 at Circuit City:

Radio Shack has it for $60:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3150601
Vann's also has it for $60, and they have it branded as LG:
http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/465678649/
Amazon has had it in stock, but I don't think I can use the coupon on it:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BNT3FS
This is the generic version of the same box:
http://www.amazon.com/Insignia-Eligible-Converter-Box/dp/B001AH8BGW
This is a real pain. Perhaps I should simply look for a deal on a small LCD TV with a built-in digital tuner...

I think the problem with the campaign is that make it sound like digital is coming soon - when its been here for a while ok for most of us and its analog thats going.I think they need to say that digital is here and you can use a digital tv today. _______=== XRumer 5.0 Palladium (http://www.botmasternet.com) RULEZ! ===

Which is why were waiting for someone to "bite" and let us know for sure....I looked at the outside of the box at Frys, but no features list....And no open boxes. But thats what gives Frys its special charm.... _______=== XRumer 5.0 Palladium (http://www.botmasternet.com) RULEZ! ===

This week Target has the Apex and RCA brand converter boxes for only $40. This makes them free with the coupons, so I did that.

The DTV Coupon Program has now ended. No more converter coupon will be accepted. We do still have digital converter box for sale but we will no longer accept the government coupons. There are a select few Digita Converter Boxes that are Smart Antenna Compatible. If you purchase a Smart Antenna such as the DTA 5000 and do not have a Smart Antenna compatible converter box then your antenna will not work. Televisions with built-in digital tuners are not compatible with digital smart antennas either. If you are interested in purchasing a smart antenna compatible digital converter box then please check out the Tivax STB-T8
